New House

Every room has a bed, desk, chair, and small (or large) book case for each occupant. There is a computer jack that can accommodate an Internet (Ethernet) connection for each occupant. New House also has wireless access to the MIT network in all rooms. New House is air conditioned; alcohol is not allowed. There is a work out room and kitchen in the general area of the dorm.

Check in time: 9:00am, Check out time: 11:00am (Call if you have special needs).note that the entrance is actually on Amherst Aly - not Memorial Drive.

There will be someone at desk to let people in from 7:30am-1:00am. If people need to get in at other times, access cards will need to be arranged.

Bathrooms are located on each floor - most are shared Pay phones, coin operated laundry and vending machines are located in each house.

Keys and Front Door Access Cards: Keys and front door access cards must be returned when you check out of your residence hall. If a key or card is not returned, replacement charges will be assessed, $25. per key and $3. per card.

Responsibility for Personal Property: The Institute assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property of students or guests. This includes, but is not limited to, loss by fire, theft, water, and malfunction of electrical or mechanical systems. We recommend that summer guests secure any items of value and lock doors and windows when your room is unattended.

Parking: Memorial Drive and Vassar Street offer free street parking. We do not offer any on-campus parking for our guests. There is Free parking on Sunday, and there is a public parking lot at the corner of Mass Avenue and Vassar Street which is $4.00-$16.00 per day. If you would like to arrange and pay for parking through MIT's parking office, please call 617-258-6510.
